Still Here!

Much has changed in the past month.  As our world continues to combat and prevent the spread of COVID-19, regulations and operations have changed for many companies, including our own.  Like many organizations, we are focused on playing the best that we can with the hand we’ve been dealt, committed to keeping things as “business as usual” as  possible.   Although the times we are facing still have a good amount of uncertainty, we feel fortunate to have teammates that are committed to weathering the storm and coming out stronger on the other end.  We cannot say thank you enough to each of our first class drivers and employees for continuing to put their best foot forward to produce results.  Teamwork and communication are two primary means of our company’s success and items that must be kept in the forefront of our minds while dealing with continuous changes throughout our network.  Thank you again to all members of the LHT Family for your commitment and dedication to excellence, we sincerely appreciate you!

Communication is Key

While our team does the best we can to ensure all of our drivers and customers are moving, we cannot stress enough the importance of communication while out on the roads.  Taking the extra time to call every shipper, consignee or jobsite we can to clearly understand their policies and unloading schedules can help set us up for success load after load after load.  If you are a driver and receive a trip profile or Bill of Lading that doesn’t seem to have the contact info you need to be successful, reach out to dispatch and ask for assistance.  We are committed to ensuring that all our teammates can be as successful as possible!

Stopping for Fuel?

One small silver lining about our current climate is that fuel prices continue to drop, making it a bit less expensive to fill our tanks.  In order to ensure you’re capturing the correct data the next time you fuel up, don’t overlook the importance of entering an accurate odometer reading at the pump.  Entering proper data is critical in ensuring that your equipment is running as efficient as possible and can help offer an early insight to any potential issues.  Keeping an eye on all equipment analytics and maintenance can help us keep running strong without a mechanical delay!

Three Keys for the Month

  1. Thank you to all our first class drivers and employees for working hard to battle unforeseen circumstances in keeping our company as successful as possible!
  2. Communication on the road is key, taking the time to call both pick-up and delivery contacts ahead of time can help us be successful for the long haul!
  3. Entering the correct odometer reading when you stop for fuel is an important way to ensure your equipment is running as efficiently as possible!

THE BOTTOM LINE

We Reward our Drivers Safe Driving Habits!

Safety is an item on the forefront of our minds at all time.  Our team works endlessly to ensure that we provide the proper equipment, technology and training  to keep every member of our team as safe as possible.  Equally important to operating our assets and driving safely is that our people are doing everything possible to keep themselves safe as well.  As we continue to combat the spread of COVID-19, we would like to reiterate the importance of staying current with CDC Guidelines and regulations as much as possible.    Additionally, we will continue to try to pass along any updates received from our customers that illustrate new policies or protocol for our drivers when visiting their locations.  Together, through education and communication we can take strides in making our people and company as successful as possible.  Thank you again to every Long Haul employee and driver for your continued dedication to our success.
