Anthony Book Long Haul Trucking

Thanks to the Folks that Keep us Rolling!
In what will be recorded as one of the coldest, snowiest months in Minnesota history, we cannot thank our team enough for all their persistence and hard work in making the month of February a success! We would like to especially thank our hard-working mechanics and techs that spend many hours of the day in the cold, wrenching on our rigs and trailers to keep us rolling down the road! For Long Haul to be a success, we need to be able to count on each department of our organization to operate at peak performance and we saw this happen first-hand last month. Along with our shop workers, we would also like to extend a special thank you to each of our drivers, dispatchers, and office employees for their commitment to safety, attention to weather forecasts and road restrictions. Each of our teammate’s safety is first and foremost, and we really appreciate everyone stepping up to help keep us safe and running strong! Great work everyone!
The Big Four!

This past year there were 4 main categories causing accidents in the state of MN. Known as “The Big 4” they are as follows: seatbelt violations, cell phone violations, speeding and out of service violations. With safety being a top priority for our company we would like to remind all drivers that by following speed limits, putting down the phone, buckling up and practicing proper maintenance checks, we are taking a step forward in reducing accidents. Let’s be the trucking company that sets the standard when it comes to safety and take pride in ensuring that all of our drivers and office professionals have a shared goal of being a fleet that anyone on the roads would feel safe driving alongside. Thank you Long Haul drivers for your attention to safety!

Safety First
Thanks again to every Long Haul driver and employee that has helped in getting 2023 off to a great start! As we push through the remainder of the first quarter, it’s important that we stay focused on the safe driving tactics that have kept us safe thus far! Freight’s busy, and business is good, but there’s no sense in extra hustle if it’s going to lead to any reckless driving or lack of attention to detail. Winter roads mean slick conditions and there’s no sign of spring yet that should lead us to think otherwise. Mind your following distance, slow down, pay attention to tire spray and most importantly stay SAFE! Part of our mission as America’s elite fleet is to make sure every one of our professional drivers stays accident free and able to roll all winter long!

Winter weather driving tips- Plan your trips as much as possible to prevent any downtime caused by roads being closed. Look ahead before you depart towards your next destination, if needed the truck can be routed a different way to miss any road closures. For instance, if headed west from the Midwest and Wyoming is closed, we can route the truck to I-40 down and around to any points in CA.
A few solid options for information regarding the weather and road conditions are The Weather Channel, Accu Weather, and by state go to 511.com for whatever state you’ll be traveling through.
By pre-planning your trips, it may save you a few days of being stuck waiting for the road to open up.

Always remember it’s better to plan ahead than end up stuck somewhere.
