Don’t Forget Your Chains!

As temperatures drop outside it reminds us that winter is well on the way, and that it’s important for us to ensure our rigs are equipped with the proper equipment to stay safe and legal while traveling in the western states. Colorado chain law is already in effect, and there are more states on the horizon. We value each of our teammates immensely and always want to ensure that we’ve taken the correct steps in staying safe and running strong all year long!

Winter Driving Tips

• Make sure you are carrying the appropriate food supplies, hydration supplies and clothing for winter driving and unforeseen weather delays.
• Please remember to add anti-gel into your fuel tanks when traveling into a region with colder temperatures.
• Any time you are coming out of the south, once north of I-80, you need to purchase fuel, as it is treated for colder temps.
• If you are home, or on your 34 hour reset and temps are below freezing, make sure your APU is operating. Do not let it sit idle for more then 16 hours without being ran.
• Carry extra fuel filters.
• If you are running west, make sure you are equipped with chains or cables if needed for icy or snowy terrain, especially when driving through elevation.
• Call dispatch immediately if you do not feel safe, no load is worth one of our drivers safety.
