Al Smith Wins Harry Slimmer Leadership Award
We are thrilled to announce the winner of the 2018 Harry Slimmer Leadership Award, Al Smith! This prestigious award is given away in honor of John Daniels first driver, Harry Slimmer. This award is an embodiment of the driver that is always team Long Haul and always willing to go the extra mile for their teammates and customers. Al has been with Long Haul since 1995 and has been an incredible employee ever since. He leaves a great impression on everyone that he works with and has played a big role in our company’s growth throughout the years. What’s even more amazing is that this is Al’s second time receiving the award, proving further how important he’s been to the Long Haul family over the years! We took some time to call Al and hear from him how it feels to win the Harry Slimmer Leadership Award and this is what he said: “It’s humbling to win the Harry Slimmer award. It reminds you of how important it is to look after your teammates on the road and always do the right thing. Thank you again to all our amazing drivers and employees for making 2018 an elite year. We cannot express enough how appreciative we are for all your contributions and hard work! As we continue into 2019, we would like to remind our fleet the importance of route planning and specifically the lane restrictions that might arise during your loads. It’s very important that we know exactly what roads are ok for us to run so that we don’t end up in a restricted area, potentially facing a violation or citation. We know for a fact that each one of our drivers works far too hard to have to pay avoidable fines like these! Thank you again to all LHT teammates for your great work this year!
